Apartment Resident Event Ideas For July 2021

Help your residents beat the heat this July with new and exciting events. If you need ideas for 4th of July events and beyond, we’ve got you covered! Here are a few of our apartment resident event ideas for July 2021.

Water Day – The heat in July can be brutal. However, you still want to encourage your residents to get outside and enjoy the fresh air, making it the perfect time for a water day. Turn your property into an oasis with baby pools, slip n slides, water balloons, squirt guns, and more. Arrange games such as water balloon baseball or a sponge bucket relay race.

Trivia Night – Organize a trivia night for your residents with snacks, drinks, and great prizes. If a lot of your residents have children, host a kids trivia hour before the real trivia begins, allowing the whole family to get involved. Choose a charismatic host that will keep the crowd interested and excited, and be sure to include a wide range of questions.

Food Truck Friday – Arrange for different local food trucks to park on your property every Friday night in July. This gives your residents a chance to mingle while also supporting local businesses. You can also set up a small stage area and encourage any musicians in your building to play live music. Ask for volunteers beforehand and come up with a performance schedule, as an open mic can get out of hand.

4th of July Festivities

With the country working its way back to normal, many people are counting down the days until they can celebrate the next major holiday, the 4th of July. Make it a celebration to remember with the following apartment resident events.

Parade – Map out a parade route around your property and encourage all residents to dress up and join in. Provide coffee and water for residents to enjoy along the route with a snack or baked goods station at the end. The week leading up to the parade, you can also set up a craft table in a common area where kids can come decorate their bikes and wagons.

Mini Olympics – Turn the parade into the Opening Ceremonies and follow it up with a mini Olympics. Residents can split up into teams and compete in events such as a pie-eating contest, 3-legged race, egg toss, and more. You can even supply the winners with their very own Olympic medal!

Firework Show – No 4th of July celebration is complete without fireworks. Invite residents to gather outside to enjoy food, drinks, and entertainment. When the sun sets, you can begin the firework show. If you don’t have fireworks on your own property, be sure to let residents know of any local firework works they can attend.

July’s “National Day” Celebrations

Every month we highlight “National Days” that make for great apartment resident events and activities. All of these come from the National Day Calendar and are a great reason to have an event or activity for your apartment residents!

National Pina Colada Day on July 10th: Rent a frozen pina colada machine and set it up in a common area, or even poolside. Have residents show their ID to receive a cup and a wristband to gain access to the machine. If you have a lot of residents that are under 21, consider providing a non-alcoholic version as well.

National Moon Day on July 20th: National Moon Day recognizes the day man first walked on the moon. Celebrate by screening one of the many movies or documentaries based around the Apollo 11 mission. If any of your residents remember the moon landing in 1969, invite them to share their experiences and stories from that momentous day.

National Hot Fudge Sundae Day on July 25th: Who doesn’t love ice cream on a hot summer day? Invite residents to partake in this fun national holiday with an ice cream sundae bar. Provide ice cream, sprinkles, whipped cream, nuts, and of course, hot fudge.
